β¨ ABOUT PUP PAL πΎ β¨

Hi, I'm so glad you're here!
Pup Pal πΎ is named after Pal, my very first dog of my own and the love of my life. It's also dedicated to every special dog I've loved, the ones still by my side and the ones gone too soon. Each of them holds a piece of my heart, and this little place keeps that love going. Now I get to be your pup's pal.
Today my heart belongs to two girls. Maya is my 7-year-old Shar Pei, the derpiest, cutest face you'll ever see. Annie is my 3-year-old Golden Retriever, the sweetest cuddle bug on the planet. They are truly my whole life, and everything revolves around them.
I want that same happy, healthy life for your pup, so think of me as their personal shopper. Every product is hand-picked, and the ones Maya and Annie actually use get a special mark. And when something is a favorite in my own house, I'll tell you!
My sweet Annie constantly battles itchy skin, so I'll also be sharing my own recipes and the little extras I do to help her feel her best. I'm learning something new every day, and I'd love for you to learn right alongside me.
If you have a tip, a favorite product, or a trick that's worked for your pup, email me at puppalspringhill@gmail.com. I'd love to hear from you!
From my pack to yours,

π₯£ ANNIE'S ITCHY-DAY SLURP BOWL
What I make for my 65-lb Golden, Annie, who constantly battles itchy skin. It's not a cure, but every ingredient is a healthy one for her, and it seems to take the edge off on her itchy days. Smaller pups need less.
THE SLURP BOWL:
β’ 4 tbsp goat's milk
β’ 1 tbsp plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt (no xylitol)
β’ Dog-safe bone broth powder, per the label for your dog's size (I use 3 scoops)
β’ 1 tbsp ground flax seeds
β’ 1 tbsp chia seeds, stirred into the liquids
β’ A splash of apple cider vinegar with the mother
β’ Salmon oil, per the label for your dog's size
DAILY TOPPERS (ROTATE):
β’ Eggs, microwave-scrambled with a little yogurt (easy peasy!)
β’ Plain cooked oatmeal
β’ Sardines packed in water, no salt added
* Can add a little honey, Banana, or apple sauce for sweetness once in awhile!
BONUS: a small lick of coconut oil
SKIN AND PAWS: diluted ACV, on unbroken skin only, or coconut oil
π‘ My tip: start small and watch the stools. If they're loose, I cut back the yogurt and/or milk.

π SOOTHING OATMEAL & EPSOM SALT SOAK
β’ 1 cup Epsom salt
β’ 1 cup oats, ground into a fine powder
Mix into a tub of lukewarm water, not hot. Have your pup lie all the way down and soak for 10 to 15 minutes. I do this once a week or when Annie's having a rough itchy stretch.
π‘ My trick: Annie wants to hop right out, so I gently hold her body in the water and let her rest her head on my arm. It keeps her calm and keeps her from drinking the bath water.
β οΈ SAFETY
β’ Never leave your pup alone in the tub.
β’ Don't let them drink the bath water. Epsom salt can upset their stomach.
β’ Skip the salt on raw or broken skin. Use the oatmeal alone instead.
β’ Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly, especially between the toes and in skin folds.

What works for Annie may not work for your dog. I'm a dog mom, not a vet, so please check with your veterinarian before changing your dog's diet or care routine.
